About the Cabin

Trout Run School is a two-room schoolhouse built in 1921, which was sold to PATC for half the appraised value by long-time members Paul and Rita Marth in 2021. Thanks to their generosity the Club is able to add this unique building to our Cabins system. The Marths, who acquired the property in 1976, installed the modern kitchen and bath and replaced the 87 year old metal roof after it blew off in 2008. Located 4 miles from the Wolf Gap Recreation Area, the cabin is a gateway to outdoor activities in the Central Appalachian Mountains, including the Cacapon River Water Trail, George Washington National Forest, and Trout Pond Recreation Area.

For more information on this and other PATC cabins, we recommend acquiring and reading a copy of our PATC Cabins Book.
