A red cabin in the middle of a snowy forest

About the Cabin

This primitive trail center is located on the PATC-owned Aughwick Creek Tract, near Cowans Gap State Park, PA. Built by volunteers from a kit donated by Dr. William Silberman, the center offers a spacious living/dining area with a wood stove and fireplace. The downstairs bedroom includes a double bed and a double-deck bunk, and the loft space provides extra sleeping area. Access the cabin from the adjacent parking area. Plan to bring water with you. Hikers can travel along the Tuscarora Trail, just 100 yards uphill from the cabin, or visit Buchanan State Forest and Cowans Gap State Park.
