Supervisor of Membership

What makes PATC what it is are its members and to be able to accomplish its goals it needs to continually expand its membership/volunteer base. This dedicated membership/volunteer base is why the Club accomplishes so much. Like any organization it need to grow and continue to attract new blood. My goal will be to continue and improve the things that have helped increase our membership, improve on them and work and solicit other ideas to attract mew members.

Relevant Experience

I have been a member of PATC and volunteer for 25+ years – 17 years a part of Council/EXCOM. I started out as a member of the South Mountain crew and after my 2008 AT Thru-hike I became the Maintainer of Annapolis Rock on the AT and shortly later became a maintainer on the Catoctin Trail. As a District Manager and Crew Chief I recruited many people to help maintain my trail, a good number were not PATC members. During my time as a Trail Talker and Supervisor of Outreach I interfaced with the public and was able to inform them about PATC which resulted in many on them becoming members.  The other half of being on EXCOM is managing and conducting the business side of PATC. I have firsthand knowledge of the workings of the Club e.g. staffing, financial, trail, cabin issues, and a strong background in the Cooperative Management System involved with the AT working with ATC and Federal, State, local organizations. In my professional life, I was a Project Manager. As a volunteer, I have served for over 30 years in a number of leadership positions for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, a professional organization (Project Management Institute) and the Boy Scouts. I received the Myron Avery award in 2012
