President

The role of President will be especially critical as PATC enters its second century, building on an extraordinary legacy while positioning the PATC to meet the opportunities and challenges of the years ahead. I welcome the opportunity to help lead that transition and to give back to an organization whose mission I believe in deeply. I experience the value of that mission personally whenever I run or work the trails in the mountains—the outdoors gives us a place to reconnect with ourselves while disconnecting, even briefly, from the drumbeat of daily life.

PATC is more than a trail club. It is a magnetic nexus that brings together people, communities, volunteers, and partners around a shared love of the outdoors. I want to help strengthen those connections, inspire and empower our volunteers, and position PATC to carry its extraordinary legacy of stewardship and service confidently and sustainably into its next century.

Relevant Experience

I've volunteered in nonprofit social sector organizations for over 20 years...many as president. I'm a retired Army general officer and was the president and CEO of both a nonprofit and a for-profit company. I'm an avid runner and have been running trail ultradistances for over 30 years. I'm currently the Supervisor of Membership and District Manager for the Southern District of the Tuscarora Trail.
