About the Cabin

This one-room public cabin is located 4 miles south of Washington Monument State Park in Frederick County, MD. Gifted to the PATC in 1939 by Harrison Krider, Bear Spring is one of the first PATC cabins. Access the cabin by a half-mile hike-in from the parking area. There, you will find 2 triple-deck bunks, an intimate living area, and a cook shed for additional cooking and dining space. There are a variety of hiking opportunities within the vicinity of the cabin.

A wooden shelter with a metal roof and a picnic table in the woods
