Trail Maintainer Training:  On October 21, Robert Fina will lead a workshop for trail maintainers. The training will be held on the Bull Run-Occoquan Trail near the soccer fields (near Clifton).  This is valuable training that is close to those living near the Beltway and is intended for trail maintainers on any PATC-maintained trail. Whiteoak Canyon Parking Problems: The Shenandoah National Park is warning people that the parking at the bottom of Whiteoak Canyon is significantly limited because storms have washed out a bridge.  If you will be hiking in that area of the park, be sure to consult the SNP's statement.

Jones Mt CabinJones Mt Cabin Renovations Lead to Trail Closures: The National Park Service is renovating the Jones Mountain Cabin. During the renovation, the cabin and trails around it will be closed. If you intend to hike in the eastern portion of the Park's central section or if you are interested in renting this historic cabin, be sure to read the closure information.
