"Meet the Trail Patrol" Hikes
These hikes are led by one or more active Trail Patrol members and are designed to train new, and/or probationary members in methods of interacting with the public and being at ease with hikers encountered on the trail. These hikes are also a great opportunity for those who are interested in Trail Patrol, but are not quite sure exactly what we do.
Trail Patrol members show, by example, what to bring for a day hike, including personal emergency equipment and items needed to help other hikers.
Probationary members learn the skills they need to become active members, such as how to record trail conditions for later entry into the PATC online reporting system.
