Trail Day at Sugarloaf Mountain

Event Category: Trail Work

Start Date: Sunday, 11/5/2023

Start Time: 9:30 AM

Description:

Continuation of the fall 2023 trail work sessions at Sugarloaf Mountain (Dickerson, MD). Being the closet mountain to the DC metro area, the trails get a lot of use, thus require a lot of maintenance. Trails don’t maintain themselves!

Installation of new and maintenance of existing erosion control structures will be the primary projects.

Bring work gloves (i.e., heavy-duty work gloves rather than garden gloves) and eye protection. Knee pads and hard hat are recommended, but not required. Also, bring two liters of water, trail snacks, and lunch.

Meet at the West View parking area.

Dress in clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty appropriate for weather conditions. Event will cancel for rain.

We generally work until 3:30 pm but stay for as long as you can.
