We'll do an out and back hike of about 4 miles on the Cabin John Trail, a natural surface trail. We'll begin at the southern terminus of the trail at the Cabin John Local Park (7401 Macarthur Blvd). [not Cabin John regional park in Bethesda] Note: This portion of the trail has moderate "up and down" sections, more than on some other Easy Hikes.  Meet by 10:15 a.m. at the end of the parking lot near the playground. Bring water and lunch for an optional picnic lunch at the end of the hike. There is a porta-o-potty on site. Please refrain from participating unless you are fully vaccinated. Directions: There are various ways to get to Cabin John Local Park. These directions are via the Beltway: From Beltway, take exit 39 to Rt. 190 East/River Road towards Washington. Exit right onto Rt. 190 East /River Road and continue about 2.3 miles to Rt. 188/Wilson Lane. Turn right and continue about 1.1 miles to Macarthur Blvd. Turn right, continue .2 mile and turn right into the park at 7401 Macarthur Blvd. Parking lot is just off this entrance.
