Bear Spring Cabin

This one-room public cabin is located 4 miles south of Washington Monument State Park in Frederick County, MD. Gifted to the PATC in 1939 by Harrison Krider, Bear Spring is one of the first PATC cabins. Access the cabin by a half-mile hike-in from the parking area. There, you will find 2 triple-deck bunks, an intimate living area, and a cook shed for additional cooking and dining space. There are a variety of hiking opportunities within the vicinity of the cabin.

For more information on this and other PATC cabins, we recommend acquiring and reading a copy of our PATC Cabins Book .
