Unknown to many, this long-distance trail route cover some 190 miles traveling from the Appalachian Trail south of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, dipping into Maryland, wandering over to Delaware, and finally terminating at Chadd's Ford in Pennsylvania, where it connects with the Brandywine Trail. At its closest point to Washington, D.C., it's only a three-hour drive to the north.
