Map 12: AT in GWNF Pedlar District (Rockfish Gap to Tye R.)
(11th edition, 2011) PATC Map 12 features complete coverage of the northern half of the Glenwood-Pedlar District of George Washington National Forest. It shows 88 miles of trails, including 30 miles of the Appalachian Trail from Rockfish Gap (I-64) southward to the Tye River Gap (VA-56). The latter is A.T. Guidebook Sections VA-15 and VA-16. This edition is printed on water-resistant and tear-resistant synthetic stock in 11 colors with a Scale of 1:63,360 and contour interval of 100 feet. The A.T. profile was surveyed "on the ground" expressly for this edition, making the distance and elevations superior to any other map. GPS users: This map has UTM grid lines to allow for more accurate navigation and precise trail coordinates. The 2011 edition introduces shaded relief to assist the user in terrain visualization.
