A guide book of the official PATC cabins.

Potomac Appalachian Trail Club
Cabins 2024 Edition
A guide to rental cabins maintained by the
Potomac Appalachian Trail Club

We are pleased to announce the newest edition of one of our most popular publications, the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club Cabins book. Five additional cabins have been added to the cabin roster since the 2021 edition of this book.

Each of the 49 cabins maintained by the club is described in detail – its location, layout, features, distance to the AT, and more. Floor plans and both interior and exterior photographs are also provided for each cabin. The book begins with helpful information about the different types of cabins, suggestions of what renters can expect to find at the cabin, and what they should plan to bring from home.

This wealth of information gives potential renters what they need to know to make a choice of which cabin will best fit their needs and expectations. The book does not describe the rental process and rules; those are found on the cabins website, . This full-color edition is 128 pages.

A guide of the Tuscarora Trail and the Southern half of West Virginia and Virginia, created by the PATC.

The Tuscarora Trail A Guide to the
South Half in West Virgini
a and Virginia

We are pleased to announce the eighth edition of The Tuscarora Trail: A Guide to the South Half in West Virginia and Virginia. The Tuscarora Trail is described in the guide as a challenging 250-mile trail with a rugged rocky tread and a beautiful mountaintop ridge walk that parallels the better known and more traveled Appalachian Trail. The co-editors of this edition of the southern portion of the trail have included descriptions of the changes that have occurred in the trail since the previous edition. The detailed descriptions of the history of the trail, its geology, and the flora and fauna found along it that were included in earlier editions are included here. There have been significant changes, both in the route and the facilities for the hiker found along it; further significant changes are planned. In the Central Section, four major relocations have taken place; and in the Southern Section, which is mostly on public lands, a major trail closure took place in late 2022 just west of Massanutten Mountain in Section 20. The trail descriptions and distances were accurate on the date of publication; however, users of this guide should be aware that circumstances and conditions may warrant further changes. For updated information on such changers, users should go to tuscaroratrail@patc.net. This edition is 136 pages and includes 15 photographs.
