Tulip Tree Cabin

Located on property donated by the Lambert family, this primitive cabin can be found on the western side of SNP, near Luray, VA. Designed and built by PATC volunteers with native materials and primitive hand tools, Tulip Tree was completed after nearly eight years of work and filled with hand crafted furnishings. Offering 2 double bunks and 2 double-width bunks, a fireplace, woodstove, and exterior cook shed the cabin provides a nice respite for families. Access the cabin by a 0.1 mile hike-in from the parking area. Morning Star Road should not be attempted with vehicles with low clearance, and four-wheel drive is recommended. Hikers have easy access to the Crusher’s Ridge Trail trailhead, which leads to the AT.

For more information on this and other PATC cabins, we recommend acquiring and reading a copy of our PATC Cabins Book.
