Johnson Cabin

This small but efficient public cabin is located near Lydia, VA, on the PATC-owned Vining Tract. Built of salvaged logs as a hunting cabin by the Johnson brothers, Johnson houses a double-width, double-deck bunk, a wood stove, a table and chairs, and a Hoosier cabinet. A detached cook shed offers space to spread out for warm-weather kitchen and lounging. Access the cabin by a 0.8 mile hike-in from the shared parking area, or brave the rough road to the cabin. Hikers can explore the Vining Tract or head to SNP.

For more information on this and other PATC cabins, we recommend acquiring and reading a copy of our PATC Cabins Book.
